I'm a board certified periodontist, which means I've achieved the highest level of recognition in my field. Part of that is continuing education credits. We have a higher than normal requirement, so we maintain with doing our required CE courses, and since I'm also certified for sedation, I need to maintain my advanced cardiac life support, and all the required CE for that, also.
In dentistry, and in surgery, you can never feel like you're an expert. There's always ways to improve, newer techniques, newer instrumentations, so you always try to stay current. The big advances in our field is in technology. There's always new technology coming out. I do a lot of my surgery with CAD-CAM technology, and I do virtual surgery on the computer, before I then take it to the patient.
Today, everything's about being minimally invasive. We do microsurgery techniques, and we try to keep everything as minimally invasive as possible. It makes recovery more comfortable, and faster, and healings better, so it's very important to keep up with the latest technology.
Dr. Margolin achieved the status of diplomate of the American board of Periodontology in 2005, a verification of expert status in his field. He has been an active member of the Dallas County Dental Society, serving on the membership development committee.
Dr. Margolin provides services in all aspects of periodontal therapy. He does gum reshaping treatments for our patients, which gives an instant smile changing result, often without the need for additional dentistry. He also performs classic periodontal procedures to treat gum disease.
Dr. Margolin lives in Dallas, TX with his wife Melissa, son Cole, and daughter Cate. When not working, Dr. Margolin is probably spending quality time with his children at sports games, Boy Scouts, art, dance, or doing homework.
