Do you suffer with multiple smile flaws such as chipped, gapped, and stained teeth? Perhaps you have considered cosmetic dental services but felt disappointed by a specific treatment’s limited results. Fortunately, patients in need of a total smile makeover can achieve the smile they have always wished for with porcelain veneers, a versatile and permanent enhancement provided by our experienced cosmetic dentist.
What are porcelain veneers?
Porcelain veneers are permanent cosmetic enhancements that are used to conceal and cover flawed areas of a smile. They are made from super thin pieces of porcelain and are bonded over the front sides of teeth to hide flaws such as intrinsic and extrinsic tooth stains, chipped teeth, and misaligned teeth. Each veneer is handcrafted for a patient’s specific tooth and is made to very exact specifications. This allows patients to achieve a perfectly white, uniform smile that is not unnatural looking.
What does this cosmetic procedure entail?
While veneers can dramatically transform a smile, the procedure itself is minimally invasive. In fact, anesthesia is not necessary to place porcelain veneers on the teeth. After removing a very small portion of enamel from the tooth’s surface, our cosmetic dentist will take molds of a patient’s teeth so that the size and shape of their veneers can be determined. Once the specifications are determined, a patient’s veneers will be constructed by technicians in a dental laboratory from high-quality pieces of porcelain.
Once the veneers are ready for placement, patients will return to our practice for the bonding process. Veneers are bonded to the outer surfaces of teeth with dental cement and as the cement hardens, our dentist will make any necessary adjustments to ensure patient satisfaction.
