Valentine’s Day is almost here, which means we are being inundated with hearts, red roses, cupids, and sweet talk of love and romance. But this holiday doesn’t have to be all about expressing affection for your sweetheart, children, or other people in your life. It’s also important to love yourself — fully and without reservation.
When your smile is discolored, damaged, or worn down, it can be difficult to fully embrace yourself. You may be embarrassed to smile. You may avoid social situations. You may mumble, hide your teeth, and come off as insecure or standoffish. And this perpetuates a cycle of unhappiness and low self esteem. Which may be compounded by your feeling that cosmetic dentistry is vain or unnecessary. Or an assumption that it’s a luxury that you just can’t afford.
Here’s the thing: just because a technique is “cosmetic” doesn’t mean it’s superficial. Improving the appearance of your smile will make you look more polished and professional. It will lift your confidence, which will apparent in interactions ranging from dates to job interviews.
And you don’t have to spend a small fortune or hours at the dental office to beautify your grin. We offer cosmetic procedures that are easy on the budget and that can be completed in one visit.
We promise, it is time and money well spent. Because a smile that makes you happy is priceless.

As we get older, our teeth tend to become darker or take on a yellowed appearance. The most common form of tooth staining is called extrinsic. It tends to be caused or at least exacerbated by lifestyle factors: tobacco use, eating deeply pigmented foods and sauces, drinking tea, coffee and other dark beverages.
Lifting the stains off dirty, dingy, and discolored teeth will do wonders for your appearance. Suddenly, you’ll look younger and more dynamic. You’ll want to flash your brilliant new smile at every opportunity.
At Gregory Allen Kerbel, DDS, PLLC, we offer two convenient teeth whitening systems from Philips Zoom.
Our in-office treatment delivers immediate, dramatic results — up to eight shades whiter in just one visit. After making sure the soft tissues of your mouth are protected, we will apply the powerful hydrogen peroxide solution. We will activate it with an LED light, let it work its magic, then remove it. We will repeat the process a couple more times.
If you’d rather whiten your teeth at home on your own schedule, our take-home system enables you to do just that — with much better results than over-the-counter drugstore whitening kits. We provide custom-fitted trays and a supply of hydrogen peroxide gel. Over the course of a week or two, you wear the trays for a prescribed amount of time. This method gives you total control over your treatment. When you are happy with the shade of your teeth, you can stop.
If your pearly whites have chips, stains, cracks, gaps, and even minor alignment problems but you want a less costly and less invasive fix than veneers, consider tooth bonding. This procedure can generally be done in one visit and without anesthesia (unless we are working with a decayed area of your tooth).
The procedure involves applying a putty-like resin to the surface of your tooth (like that used for composite fillings). The material will be perfectly matched to your enamel color, and we will meticulously shape and mold it before hardening it with a special light. After making final adjustments, we will polish the resin so that it reflects light just like your natural teeth.
A procedure that is subtle, but that can vastly improve the look of your smile, contouring involves removing small amounts of enamel from the teeth. It’s an excellent technique for fixing teeth that are slightly misshapen, too long or pointy, overlapping, pitted or grooved, or that have worn-down edges. We will first X-ray your mouth to check the position of your dental pulp. Since we touch just the enamel layer of the tooth, the procedure is comfortable and requires no anesthesia.
It doesn’t take a lot to learn how to love your smile once again.
