Well, I know in Houston, we had a separate place. We had kind of a children's and had a completely different setup, and motif, and everything, but for us, since my wife pretty much brings them, it was more convenient for her to bring them here, the same place that she and I go, and schedule the appointments.
The fact that they have TVs on the ceiling, I think the kids can watch whatever they want, and they stay entertained. I never had a problem with the dentist when I was a kid, but even my kids, that would have been concerned or would have had a concern about, they've never complained. They've never come away saying, “You know, he hurt me, or this didn't ...“ So, it's been great.
Even among the folks who are kind of kid-focused, my kids love Dr. Kerbel and the treatment that we've received here, so it's been good. He's very knowledgeable in what he does, and he's meticulous. He's a detail-oriented person, and that's the kind of people you want working in your mouth.
The other thing is that his office is ... He's got all the latest and greatest technology. Every time I come in, I see something new, see something that he's changed or made better. You know that's usually the question I ask other people when they're going to their dentist, is, “Hey, are they keeping up with technology?“ And Dr. Kerbel definitely does, so that's why I prefer him.

We want every child to feel comfortable and form a positive association with the dentist, so we recommend that a parent or guardian remain present during at least the first couple of visits. We take our time and go at your child’s pace to alleviate any potential anxiety.
We also provide kid-friendly diversions like coloring books and a wagon filled with toys for each child to choose from. Every treatment station is equipped with a ceiling-mounted TV and headphones so your child can watch a favorite movie or cartoons. This makes the process of performing regular cleaning, examination, and X-rays a lot easier and more fun for children.
Addressing Thumb Sucking
It’s completely natural for babies and toddlers to self-soothe with thumb sucking, but after a certain age, this activity can become detrimental to proper oral development, affecting the shape of the palate and impacting teeth and even jaw alignment. We’re happy to help frustrated parents find appropriate ways to curb thumb-sucking behavior before any lasting damage is done.
